Managed pay-per-click campaigns

Search advertising remains the fastest way to put a business in front of people who are actively looking for what it sells. Unlike organic ranking, it produces traffic on the first day. Unlike display advertising, it reaches people at the moment of intent.

What a managed campaign involves

  • Strategy planning built around your sector and your actual goals, rather than a generic setup applied to every client.
  • Campaign build: account structure, keyword research, ad copy, negative keywords and landing pages that match what the ad promised.
  • Ongoing optimisation: search-term reports, bid adjustments, pausing what does not convert and putting the budget where it does.
  • Reporting on return, not on clicks. Clicks are an input; the number that matters is the cost of acquiring a customer.

Where campaigns usually go wrong

Three failures account for most wasted budget: sending paid traffic to a generic home page instead of a page about the thing advertised; not excluding the searches that will never buy; and judging the campaign on clicks because nothing further down the funnel is being measured.

What to expect

Paid search stops the moment the budget does, which makes it a complement to organic work rather than a substitute. Used well it buys you visibility while slower channels mature, and it tells you within weeks which messages and which terms are worth building content around.
