Booking a restaurant table through Facebook: the ReservaliaFB® app
Taking restaurant bookings straight from Facebook became a reality with an app we designed, built and patented: ReservaliaFB®. Restaurants in Spain and beyond could fill more tables through the social network by creating an official Facebook page and installing the app.
In Marbella, the restaurant Marbella Patio became the first venue in Spain to offer diners the option of booking a table straight from its official Facebook page. Version 1.0 of the app, the only one of its kind in the country at the time, was designed and developed by SHOUT Marketing.
The app was deliberately simple to use. You picked the date, the number of diners and the arrival time, then left your details. The Facebook user received both an SMS and an email confirming the booking.
A loyalty scheme sat on top of it: every booking earned points that could be redeemed for dinners and other rewards. Diners booking through Facebook also got access to exclusive promotions and discounts. For restaurant owners, the app meant they could run their own group-buying style offers and coupons directly on Facebook, in real time, without going through a third-party deals site.
The service ran on desktop first, with a mobile version planned to make booking even easier. In its first week alone, the Marbella Patio app received more than 200 visits.
The application was designed, developed and patented by SHOUT Marketing.
